Course summary

In this course, you will get to know Porto better in the company of a fun group of students and learn to communicate in Portuguese in basic everyday situations, based on the presentation of language contents and guided practice.

Each didactic unit is organized based on daily communicative situations and proposes the following path: watching one episode of the series;
watching short videos on specific linguistic contents organized by topics;
practice through a variety of exercises at the end of each topic;
completion of a quiz at the end of the unit for self-assessment of the skills achieved.

Neste curso, ficará a conhecer melhor o Porto na companhia de um grupo de estudantes divertidos e aprenderá a comunicar em português em situações básicas do quotidiano, com base na apresentação de conteúdos linguísticos e em atividades de prática orientada.

Cada unidade didática é organizada com base em situações comunicativas quotidianas e propõe o seguinte percurso:

Visualização de um episódio do filme;
Visualização de vídeos curtos com conteúdos linguísticos organizados por tópicos;
Prática através de exercícios variados no fim de cada tópico;
Realização de um quiz no final da unidade para autoavaliação dos conhecimentos adquiridos.

Target audience	Target participants All those who want to learn to communicate and interact in European Portuguese in basic everyday situations. No prior knowledge of Portuguese is required. Todos os que queiram aprender a comunicar e a interagir em português europeu em situações básicas do quotidiano. Não é necessário possuir conhecimentos prévios de português.
Certificate	Proof of participation Each participant who successfully completes the course is given proof of participation. To be successful, you must do the final quiz of each learning unit, a total of 8, and obtain a score of 50% or more in each one. Comprovativo de participação A cada participante que complete com sucesso o curso é passado um comprovativo de participação. Para ser bem-sucedido, tem de fazer o quiz final de cada unidade didática, num total de 8, e obter uma classificação igual ou superior a 50% em cada um deles.

Learning Outcomes	Objectives The general objectives of this course are: - provide initial learning of the Portuguese language in basic everyday communication situations; - offer basic linguistic and pragmatic contents; - present some aspects of Portuguese culture; - promote opportunities for integration and cultural exchange. Os objetivos gerais deste curso são: - Proporcionar a aprendizagem inicial da língua portuguesa em situações básicas de comunicação quotidiana; - Apresentar conteúdos linguísticos e pragmáticos básicos; - Dar a conhecer alguns aspetos da cultura portuguesa; - Promover oportunidades de integração e de intercâmbio cultural.
Competencies	Learning outcomes At the end of this course, you will be able to: - introduce yourself and present others; - ask questions and give answers about personal information; - establish social contacts using appropriate forms of greeting, presentation, and farewell; - communicate simply to satisfy basic communicative needs in everyday life (including going to the café and restaurant, buying tickets, shopping, asking for information, moving around the city...); - pronounce most of the sounds of the Portuguese language, and, in context, to pronounce words, sentences, and small texts; - use a basic repertoire of vocabulary related to everyday life; - using elementary language structures in an appropriate way. No final do curso, será capaz de: - apresentar-se e apresentar os outros; - fazer perguntas e dar respostas sobre informações pessoais; - estabelecer contactos sociais usando adequadamente formas de saudação, apresentação e despedida; - comunicar de forma simples para satisfazer necessidades comunicativas básicas no quotidiano (nomeadamente ir ao café e ao restaurante, comprar bilhetes, fazer compras, pedir informações, deslocar-se na cidade…); - pronunciar, de forma isolada, a maior parte dos sons da língua portuguesa, e, em contexto, pronunciar palavras, frases e pequenos textos; - usar um repertório básico de vocabulário relacionado com a vida quotidiana; - utilizar estruturas linguísticas elementares de forma adequada.
