The course SPAN 3002 is a language course in the Undergraduate programme in Spanish at the University of the West Indies (UWI), in Trinidad and Tobago. This course uses as a reference the descriptors for level C1+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: learning, teaching, assessment.
The university required us to link the Learning Outcomes of each course, with the objectives of the programme and the qualities of the distictive UWI graduate.

Understand in detail a wide range of lengthy, complex and specialised text in Spanish from different sources and recognise implicit meaning.
Use the Foreign Language flexibly and effectively for social and academic and purposes.
Produce in Spanish clear, well-structured texts on complex subjects, showing a high degree of grammatical correctness and appropriateness in style and register.
Assess effectively information from different sources.
Defend opinions and points of view with critical arguments.
Critically assess and compare socio-cultural issues in the Caribbean and Hispanic cultures.
Demonstrate autonomy and control of his/her own learning process.
