This MOOC is focused on academic recognition of student mobility, particularly between Europe and Latin America, providing examples from Portugal, Spain, Brazil and Argentina. This MOOC was designed in a peer-to-peer approach and is aiming at teaching and technical/administrative staff who work with academic mobility. Nevertheless, every person interested in this subject is invited to follow this course. It is divided into 4 modules: Student centred learning approach(s); Student workload; Learning outcomes; Learning agreement and Diploma supplement. In addition to the modules, different case studies are provided to give a practical overview of the recognition process, showing how it is organised in the different regions and countries. The course has three official languages: Portuguese, English and Spanish and all videos are subtitled.

Este MOOC foca o reconhecimento académico de mobilidade dos estudantes, em particular entre a Europa e a América Latina, dando exemplos de Portugal, Espanha, Brasil e Argentina. Apresenta uma abordagem peer-to-peer, tendo como principal público alvo docentes e técnicos de relações internacionais, sendo, no entanto, aberto a todas as pessoas interessadas no tema. É constituído por quatro módulos: Abordagem(Abordagens) da Aprendizagem Centrada no Aluno; Carga Horária dos Estudantes; Resultados de Aprendizagem e Contrato de Estudos e Suplemento de Diploma. Adicionalmente aos módulos, providenciam-se diferentes casos de estudo que permitem dar uma visão prática ao processo de reconhecimento, mostrando como está organizado nas diferentes regiões e países. Os participantes terão a oportunidade de expor as suas opiniões e dúvidas em fóruns de discussão abertos a formandos e formadores. O MOOC tem três línguas oficiais: português, inglês e espanhol, sendo que todos os vídeos estão traduzidos através de um sistema de legendagem.

Este MOOC se centra en el reconocimiento académico de la movilidad de estudiantes, particularmente entre Europa y América Latina, ofreciendo ejemplos de Portugal, España, Brasil y Argentina. Este MOOC se ha diseñado con un enfoque entre pares y se dirige a docentes y técnicos que trabajen con movilidad de estudiantes, aunque cualquier persona interesada en este tema podrá también hacer el curso. Se divide en cuatro módulos: Enfoque/s de aprendizaje centrado en el estudiante; Carga de trabajo de los estudiantes; Resultados del aprendizaje; Contrato de Estudios y Suplemento al Diploma. ObjetivosEN – GOALS
The main objective of the course is to contribute to facilitate and promote student exchange between Europe and Latin America by reducing the barriers to mobility related to the process of academic recognition and assisting Latin American HEIs to better understand the European model and to develop their own academic recognition process.
To raise awareness among LA academic staff about the importance of ensuring a full academic recognition by:
• providing information to LA Academic and staff on concrete ways to facilitate the implementation of a full recognition process.
• contributing to facilitate the harmonization of academic recognition processes between LA institutions.

PT – OBJETIVOS
O principal objetivo do curso é contribuir para facilitar e promover o intercâmbio de estudantes entre a Europa e a América Latina, reduzindo as barreiras à mobilidade relacionadas com o processo de reconhecimento académico e ajudando as IES latino-americanas a compreender melhor o modelo europeu e a desenvolver o seu próprio processo de reconhecimento académico.
Sensibilizar os docentes latino-americanos sobre a importância de garantir um reconhecimento académico completo:

CompetênciasEN – LEARNING OUTCOMES
It is a course whose main target audience are teachers, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of academic recognition of student mobility, providing information on this topic, as well as providing tools to facilitate the process for teachers.
It is expected that at the end of the course participants will understand the specific features of the European and Latin American education systems linked to academic recognition and that they will gain better skills and tools to apply in the process of recognition of their own students.

Trata-se de um curso cujo público-alvo principal são os docentes e com o objetivo de sensibilizar para a importância do reconhecimento académico da mobilidade dos estudantes, fornecendo informação sobre este tema, bem como ferramentas para facilitar o processo aos docentes.
Espera-se que, no final do curso, os participantes compreendam as especificidades dos sistemas educativos europeu e latino-americano ligados ao reconhecimento académico e que ganhem melhores competências e ferramentas para realizarem o processo de reconhecimento dos seus próprios estudantes.

Se trata de un curso cuyos principales destinatarios son los docentes, con el objetivo de concienciarles sobre la importancia del reconocimiento académico de la movilidad de estudiantes, proporcionarles información sobre este tema y sobre las herramientas para facilitar el proceso.
Se espera que al final del curso los participantes comprendan las características específicas de los sistemas educativos europeo y latinoamericano vinculados al reconocimiento académico y que adquieran mejores habilidades y herramientas para aplicar en el proceso de reconocimiento de sus propios estudiantes.

AvaliaçãoEN – ASSESSEMENT
To be successful, participants will have to take a quiz at the end of each unit, i.e., a total of four quizzes, and get a grade equal to or greater than 50% in each of them.

Para ser bem-sucedido, a/o participante terá de realizar um quiz no final de cada unidade didática, num total de 4 quizzes, e obter uma classificação igual ou superior a 50% em cada um deles.

Altair Sória Pereira is Professor at the Materials Engineering Department and at the Materials Science Post-graduation Program of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul - UFRGS, in Porto Alegre, Brazil. As a senior researcher of the High Pressure and Advanced Materials Research Group of the Physics Institute of UFRGS, his main research interest is on Materials Physics, especially on the experimental study of materials under high pressure conditions including structural phase transitions, synthesis and sintering of high hardness materials, high pressure instrumentation (small and big volume apparatus), analysis by x-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and evaluation of mechanical properties. He received his BsC degrees in Physics (1984) and Electrical Engineering (1991), and his MsC (1987) and PhD (1995) degrees from UFRGS. He served as a postdoctoral fellow from 1996 to 1997 at the Laboratoire de Physico-Chimie de Matériaux du CNRS and between 2005 and 2007 he performed activities as a visiting professor at the Université de Montpellier 2. He was co-chairperson of the 27th International Conference on High Pressure Science and Technology (AIRAPT27), held in Rio in 2019, when he was elected member of the AIRAPT Executive Committee. Besides his research work, he has an active role in teaching and administration of undergraduate courses. He was the head of the Materials Engineering (2008-2011) and of the Engineering Physics (2012-2014) Courses, and from 2016 to 2018, he was the President of the UFRGS Undergraduate Council. Nowadays is a member of the Course Advisory Council for the Materials Engineering and Engineering Physics B.Sc. Degrees.

Realizou doutorado em Educação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, especialização em Administração Pública, Alfabetização e graduação em Pedagogia pela Universidade do Oeste de Santa Catarina. É professora do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação e dos cursos de Pedagogia e Licenciatura da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Integra o Núcleo de Estudos sobre Currículo, Cultura e Sociedade (NECCSO/CNPQq) e é líder do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Educação e Disciplinamento (GPED/ CNPq). As temáticas de pesquisa se concentram em estudar currículos e as práticas pedagógicas docentes na escola contemporânea a partir dos estudos foucaultianos. Participa do Conselho Assessor da Revista Tendências Pedagógicas - Universidade Autônoma de Madri-UAM, do Conselho Editorial da série "Memórias, Docências e Currículos”- Editora Brazil Publishing (Curitiba-PR) e avaliadora de várias revistas na área da Educação. Integra o GT 13- Ensino Fundamental da Associação Nacional de Pesquisa em Educação (ANPED, como ad hoc e coordena o Eixo 10-Ensino Fundamental -ANPED-SUL). Exerceu as funções de Diretora de Currículo e Educação Integral da Secretaria de Educação Básica do Ministério da Educação do Brasil (2014-2015), Diretora de Unidade no Departamento de Cursos e Políticas de Graduação da UFRGS (2013 e 2015-2018) e integrou a Comissão Coordenadora do Pós Graduação em Educação da UFRGS (2019-2021). Fernando Manuel Gomes Remião is an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (FFUP), Director of the Integrated Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences (MICF), Member of the Scientific Council of FFUP and Cooperated Member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto. He graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences at FFUP in 1993 and completed his PhD in Toxicology in 2002 at FFUP, after a brief period of research in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Southern California (USA). In July 2015, he obtained his aggregation in Toxicology.

He is currently Regent Professor of the Curriculum Unit of "Mechanistic Toxicology" of the "Integrated Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences" and of other related subjects in the "Master in Analytical, Clinical and Forensic Toxicology" of the FFUP and "Master and Doctorate in Forensic Sciences" of the University of Porto.

Fernando Remião is also Senior Researcher of the Toxicology Group of the Unit of Applied Biomolecular Sciences -UCIBIO (REQUIMTE). He is Associate Editor of the "Journal of Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology", and author / co-author of more than 100 articles published in international journals. He successfully (co) supervised 8 PhD students and 7 Master's students and coordinated two projects funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT / Portugal).

Fernando Remião was pro-Rector of Educational Innovation and Sport, University of Porto (U.Porto) and Head of the Unit of Teaching and Learning Improvement at U.Porto, between July 2014 and July 2018.

With regard to the development of learning and teaching, he is a member, by U.Porto, of the Erasmus + TOX-OER, EFFECT, E-VAL, PRINTeL and Rec-MAT projects. In the 2006/2007 Professor Remião won the Excellence Award in e-Learning at U.Porto with the Case Study "Toxicology of Education within the Project and LearningUP". He was Erasmus Coordinator of FFUP between 2007 and 2014, and since 2014 he has been ECTS Coordinator. He joined the Jury of the Pedagogical Award of Excellence of the University of Porto in the academic years 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 and was President of the Jury of that award in 2014/2015 /2016/2017. In 2014, he joined the FCT Jury competition "Sharing and Dissemination of Experiences in the Teaching of Innovation in Portuguese Higher Education". Fernando Remião also participated in and integrated the Scientific Committees of several pedagogical conferences, namely the National Congress of Pedagogical Practices in Higher Education (CNaPPES).


Frederik De Decker Frederik De Decker
 
Frederik is currently the Head of the International Relations Office at his alma mater Ghent University (Belgium). He also started his professional career in internationalisation there, more than 25 years ago, triggered by his own study abroad experiences in The Netherlands and Poland. Previously he had different responsibilities related to internationalisation and educational policy in various Belgian higher education institutions. The last jobs he held before returning to Ghent University were head of the Office for educational development and internationalisation at Artevelde University Of Applied Sciences (2000-2006) and senior education advisor (advising the board in various educational policy matters) at the umbrella organisation Ghent University Association (2006-2014). 

He participates regularly as an expert in international projects, mainly dealing with internationalisation, educational development, qualifications frameworks and quality assurance. Topics he frequently addresses as an (invited) speaker at conferences and publishes regularly about. He also chairs and participates in various advisory boards re. these themes at the Flemish level, e.g. the Working Groups on internationalisation of the Flemish Education Council (Council for Higher Education) and the Flemish Interuniversity Council. His special interests are the concept of (international/intercultural) learning outcomes/competences; microcredentials; inclusive mobility and sustainable internationalisation.

João Pedro Pêgo João Pedro Pêgo
 

João Pedro Pêgo was born in Porto in 1977.

Degree in Civil Engineering, at Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), in 2000.

Obtained the PhD by the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, in 2007.

Has developed scientific activity in the area of Hydraulics, more concretely in the fluvial area and in the management of the water resources. In his field of research, he has several articles published in international journals with peer review and has been involved in several national and European projects, both as a researcher and as a principal investigator. He has also been active in research in the area of Pedagogy of Higher Education, in close collaboration with the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto.

In the period of 2010-2015 he was the responsible for the coordination of mobility affairs of the Department of Civil Engineering at FEUP.

Since 2013 he is the Local Erasmus Coordinator at FEUP.

Since 2019 he is the Coordinator of the Teaching and Learning Lab (www.fe.up.pt/lea) of FEUP.

José María Marbán Prieto has a degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Valladolid (UVa) and a doctorate from the same university, as well as a Diploma of University Expert in University Teaching and a Diploma of University Expert in the Development of Didactic Resources for the Teaching of Mathematics in Primary and Secondary Schools. He is currently Associate Professor of the University of Valladolid at the Faculty of Education and Social Work in the Department of Didactics of Experimental, Social and Mathematical Sciences of which he is Director since September 1, 2019. He has been the Dean of the University College of Education of Soria (2004-2010), Vice-chancellor for Teaching Duties at UVa (2010-2012) and Vice-chancellor for International Relationships and University Extension of the UVa (2012-2014). His main research works are framed in the field of mathematics education, especially in the topics concerning teachers’ professional development and the affective domain in mathematics, although he has also collaborated in different initiatives related to groups that are especially vulnerable on issues of disability, immigration and gender. He has been accredited for two six-year research periods (sexenios), the most recent awarded in 2020, and he is the author of several scientific and dissemination publications, with a growing scientific production that has been especially significant in recent years. He has supervised 6 doctoral theses (3 with international mention) and has another 8 ongoing, some close to their defense. He has participated and participates in different regional, national and international research projects on educational innovation, didactics of mathematics and applied mathematics, mainly, at the time that he is IP of different contracts or agreements both with the educational administration and with companies related to mathematics education and technology. At present he is the coordinator of the research group Mathematics Education at UVa. He has recently obtained a second prize in the teaching innovation award from the Social Council of the University of Valladolid and already received the Equality award from the Soria City Council for an educational project to promote equity in the classroom by means of inclusive mathematics education of pre-service teachers. He has been a member of the Spanish Society for Research in Mathematics Education (SEIEM) since 1999 and has collaborated as a referee or as a member of the editorial board with different international journals.
Lidia Gambon Lidia Gambon
 

Dr. Lidia Gambon. Professor of Greek Literature at the Department of Humanities of the Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS) and currently the Academic Secretary General of this institution. She holds a Bachelor degree, and she is Professor and Doctorate in Literature. Throughout her career, she has also worked as a lecturer in other Argentinean universities (Universidad Nacional del Comahue, Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, Universidad del Salvador). In university management, she has held various positions in collegiate bodies; she has also been a member of numerous advisory committees. Furthermore, she has been Secretary of Research, Postgraduate Studies and Institutional Relations of the Department of Humanities of the UNS, and Director of the Research Centre of Ancient and Medieval Classical Philology of the same department. She has participated in several international research projects and directs and has directed and/or participated in projects accredited and funded by universities and national scientific bodies (UNS, UNLP, ANPCyT). The results of her research, designed to undergraduate and postgraduate scholarship holders, have resulted in the publication of several books and articles in her speciality, as well as in conferences she has attended as a guest speaker at universities in the country and abroad (e.g. Italy; Spain).

PhD in Education Sciences (2010) of UPORTO. Post-doc in political coordination systems and implementation of European education policies - Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of UPORTO (FPCEUP).

Assistant Professor at FPCEUP and a researcher at the Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE) of FPCEUP and collaborator researcher at the Centre for Research on Higher Education Policies (CIPES).

Research interests: sociology of education and education policy analysis, namely European education policies, higher education governance, and policy implementation. Expertise on topics related to innovation in teaching and learning, inclusion, and social justice. Published a number of influential works on European integration, governance, and the institutionalisation of a European dimension in education.


Natalia Barranco Izquierdo Natalia Barranco Izquierdo
 
Dr. Natalia Barranco-Izquierdo holds a PhD Degree in Didactics of Language and Literature with a concentration in Foreign Languages. She is currently teaching in the department of Didactics of Foreign Languages at the School of Education and Social Work, University of Valladolid (Spain). Her main research interest is methods of teaching and learning English as a foreign language. She has published several papers on mediation as a communication language activity and early acquisition of foreign languages. Natalia has been an Erasmus exchange responsible for 8 years attending to incoming and outgoing students.
Nicolas Maillard Nicolas Maillard
 
Nicolas Maillard is ”Professor Associado” at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil, since 2004. He has been Dean of International Affairs at UFRGS for the period 2013-2020. In 2019, he published a book on the management of international affairs. He graduated in 1996 at the French “Grande École d’Ingénieur” ENSIMAG – INPG and obtained a Ph.D. in Information Sciences and Technologies at the Université Joseph Fourier, in 2001. His research field is Parallel Programming. He has advised 15 Master´s and 4 Ph.D. students. He has published 24 papers in international conferences with editorial review and 7 in international journals. In 2012, he spent six months as an invited scholar at the University of Pittsburgh, USA. 

As Dean of International Affairs, Nicolas was in charge of the internationalization process of UFRGS, being the direct representative of the Rector for international affairs, and in close connection with the Vice-Presidents of Teaching, Research and Outreach. His activities also included the management of student mobility.

Paloma Dias Silveira Paloma Dias Silveira
 
Educator and Doctor in Education from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS, with a doctorate internship at Université Paris VIII. She is experienced in the initial and continuing education of Basic Education teachers. Paloma is an educational affairs staff at UFRGS’s International Office, having experience in international cooperation projects, including managing the Erasmus program at UFRGS.
Teresa Calderón Quindós Teresa Calderón Quindós
 
Dr. M. Teresa Calderón-Quindós graduated and holds a PhD Degree in English Studies. She was awarded a National Prize in Applied Linguistics for her work on cognitive poetics. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Valladolid and has been lecturing for the English Department for 25 years, mainly teaching General English at the School of Education and Social Work. Her present research interests focus on bilingual education and inclusive intercultural education. She has been an Erasmus exchange responsible for more than 10 years and was an Erasmus student herself.

Valentín Cardeñoso Payo has a degree and PhD in Physics and is a Professor in Computer Science. From June 2014 to May 2018, he was vice-rector for Academic Affairs and Teaching Innovation at the University of Valladolid, and was in charge of the processes related to both official and in-house degrees and masters offered by the university., admission procedures, quality assurance and student progression. He was the academic responsible of Rec-MAT project in that period. Previously, he was Secretary of the Department of Systems Engineering and Automatics (1989-1993), Head of the Department of Computing (1996-1999), Dean of the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering from when it was created in 2000 until 2012. His research activities include Human-Computer Interaction and Speech Technologies.
