In medical institutions, learning outcomes are presented as a complex structure consisting of general and special learning outcomes.

In Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, students studying the educational program "Medicine" must obtain a wide set of knowledge, skills and attributes as they will deal with human life:

1. General learning outcomes:

  • to know the methods of analysis, synthesis and modern teaching;
  • to have specialized conceptual knowledge acquired in the process of teaching;
  • tlo be able to carry out professional activities that require improvement and integration of knowledge;
  • to be able to apply the means of self-regulation and be able to adapt to new situations (circumstances) of life and professional activity;
  • to be able to make decisions, choose the ways and strategies of communication to ensure effective teamwork;
  • to have a perfect knowledge of the state language and basic knowledge a foreign language; 
  • to possess deep knowledge in the field of information and communication technologies used in the professional activity;
  • to know the responsibilities and ways to accomplish the tasks;
  • to know social and community rights and responsibilities;
  • to be aware of the problems of preserving the environment and the ways to preserve it.

2. Special learning outcomes:

  • to interview a patient;
  • to determine the required list of laboratory and instrumental investigations and evaluate their results;
  • to establish a preliminary and clinical diagnosis of the disease;
  • to determine the required mode of work and rest in the treatment a disease;
  • to determine the nature of nutrition in the treatment of a disease;
  • to determine the principles and nature of the disease treatment;
  • to diagnose emergencies and determine the tactics of emergency medical care;
  • to carry out medical and evacuation measures;
  • to perform medical manipulations;
  • to determine the tactics of physiological pregnancy, physiological childbirth and the postpartum period;
  • to carry out sanitary and hygienic and preventive measures;
  • to plan and carry out preventive and anti-epidemic measures against infectious diseases;
  • to keep medical records;
  • to conduct epidemiological and medical and statistical studies of public health;
  • to assess the impact of the environment, socio-economic and biological determinants on the health of the individual, family, and population;
  • to analyze the activities of a doctor, department, health care institution, take measures to ensure the quality of medical care and improve the efficiency of medical resources;
  • to conduct activities for the organization and integration of medical care, and marketing of medical services.
